The time is finally here, the self-driving car is being tested in Ford, GM and other companies developing autonomous driving technology. This is called the Federal Automated Vehicles Policy
Pittsburgh, Texas, San Diego, Iowa, Wisconsin, Florida, North Carolina, Maryland, Michigan and California have allowed automakers and companies that create sensors, cameras and other technology for autonomous vehicles to conduct pilots and offer researchers insights into how best to use the data that comes from automated vehicle testing.
35,092 people died on U.S. roadways in 2015 alone. 94 percent of crashes can be tied to human choice or error. The Automated Vehicle will be able to learn from it’s mistakes rather than a human who creates the same mistake (accident) and can’t learn from them. This will save thousands of lives, buts at what cost?
